This year we’re not at Playful Learning – but Mark did make it to a conference organised by the other Whitton – Pete. Pete Whitton is a Senior Academic Development Manager in the Durham Centre for Academic Development where he leads the Researcher Development Programme. Each year the programme hosts the Durham University’s Post-Graduate Researcher Development conference which is an opportunity for PhD students to share their research, acquire some more skills and meet with others in the same boat.
In this first episode of five covering the PGR Development conference, Mark talks to Pete about the ideas behind the conference – this year’s theme is Bringing your Research Story to Life – and some of the research that students have shared in previous years.
We’re hoping that although this is mainly of interest to people at Durham Uni, this will be a bit of an insight into the PhD process for anyone interested in doing a PhD.
And if this post looks a bit less professional than usual – it’s me, Mark. Mike’s given me the keys to the feed, and I haven’t all the neat bits worked out yet. They will maybe appear later as I work out how to drive the site. Unless I crash it all …
If you’re at Durham you can find out more about Post-Graduate Researcher development at this link.
